November Read

Ivanhoe is the October/November read. The first chapter is difficult to get through--it's a history lesson. But the story begins in Chapter 2 and Mr. Mackinnon says it's great!

If you haven't picked up your book yet, you'll need to see Mr. Feick next week.

Next meeting: Friday, November 22.

E-Books Anyone?

Through UG2GO we have access to thousands of free, classic e-books. All you have to do is:

-go to the Library Home Page,
    -click on UG2GO,
-open the big blue "Read" tab,
-select "Overdrive e books and audio books".

You will need to log in with your user id (same one you use for school computers and UGCloud).
-Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Project Gutenberg".

Here you will find links that sort the collection by genre or you can search for a specific title.

The cool thing is, we can all have our own copy. Circulation of  e-books available through libraries are, like paper books, limited to the number of copies purchased by the library.

Check it out!

See you in the library, October 4.

Thanks For a Good Meeting.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the organizational meeting. It was great to hear about what you're reading and to find out some of your literary preferences.

Based on your input, I will select a couple titles for us to read and we will select the one, or depending on the number of participants, possibly two titles to read during October.

See you October 4. Remember to bring your lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.

Welcome!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year. We're going to get moving right away.

We're starting with an organizational meeting where we decide on meeting dates and collect reading suggestions.

We'll also share our love of reading by briefly talking about what we've been reading lately.

Bring your lunch to the Library seminar room. Drinks and dessert will be provided.

See you in the Library!
